2020 Subaru WRX is a Six-Speed, Turbocharged Terror
The WRX delivers no shortage of thrills with its 2.0L Turbocharged Boxer engine producing 268 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough power for mid-five-second zero to 60 mph sprints—not bad for the daily grocery getter sedan. A fully synchronized six-speed manual transmission is standard on the WRX base model, but you can opt for the Sport Lineartronic automatic with paddle shifters in both Premium and Limited trims. All WRX models are equipped with a track-tuned suspension featuring aggressive spring rates, large front and rear anti-roll bars, and active torque vectoring for shaper cornering capabilities.
2020 Subaru WRX Premium Performance Package
The WRX receives an upgraded performance package for 2020 that is exclusive to the Premium trim for an additional $2850. It features heavily bolstered Recaro front seats that are sure to keep your bum firmly planted through sweeping mountain curves. Comprised of black and red leather, contrast stitching and suede inserts, the Recaros are sure to impress passengers with their race-inspired styling.
The performance package also includes a Brembo performance braking system with red four-piston front calipers and two-piston rears that decrease stopping distance and dramatically reduce brake fade when pushed to the limit. With no other selected options, a WRX Premium with the performance package is $33,545—an incredible value for a sport sedan this capable.

2020 Subaru WRX STI
For enthusiasts seeking the highest level of performance and capability Subaru can provide, the 310-hp WRX STI will definitely not disappoint. Featuring a larger turbocharged and intercooled 2.5L Boxer engine that delivers more than 16 psi of boost, the STI’s 290 lb-ft of torque will pin you back against its optional Recaro sport seats in a hurry.
The STI is equipped with the best overall Brembo brake system in the WRX lineup, where massive yellow six-piston front calipers and cross-drilled rotors provide a tremendous source of eye candy—but perhaps more importantly improved brake pedal feel and fade resistance. Lightweight 19” wheels are also fitted to reduce unsprung weight, while a STI-exclusive 13:3:1 ultra-quick power steering ratio provides a sharper turn in and excellent road feedback.
The AWD system also receives significant upgrades in STI guise, where a Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD) electronically distributes torque between the front and rear axles for improved traction and a smoother operation. In addition, the DCCD also incorporates limited-slip helical front and Torsen rear differentials for maximum all-around grip. The 2020 WRX STI has a starting MSRP of $37,895 after destination and delivery.
