2021 subaru wrx

The 2021 Subaru WRX didn’t receive any big changes, so if you were a fan of the 2020 version, you’ll like the newest model as well. There were a few small updates, but for the most part, this little powerhouse stays the same. If you want a powerful performance in a sporty package, read on to learn everything we know about the 2021 Subaru WRX.

2021 Subaru WRX Trim Levels

The WRX is available in three trim levels:

Base

Starting Price: $28,420

All trim levels, including the Base model, are well-appointed, so research carefully before spending more for a higher trim level.

Premium

Starting Price: $32,870

One of the updates to the 2021 Subaru WRX is that the Premium trim now includes passive hand-free entry and push-button start as standard features. If you want the Performance Package, you’ll need to opt for this trim level as it’s only available on the Premium trim.

Limited

Starting Price: $33,020

The Limited has all the same features as the Premium with the addition of steering-responsive LED headlights, LED fog lights, and a power driver’s seat.

2021 Subaru WRX Performance

Enthusiasts of the Subaru WRX tend to love fast cars, and the super-quick takeoff of this sports car will not disappoint. It’s powered by a standard turbocharged, 2.0 liter, flat-four engine that pushes out 268 HP and 258 lb-ft of torque. Add all-wheel drive to the mix, and you have an impressively high-performance vehicle.

The standard version gives you 21 MPG city and 27 MPG on the highway. If you opt for the automatic, you’ll only get 18 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway.

2021 Subaru WRX Comfort

While the WRX’s main purpose is power rather than comfort, there are still some features that make the ride enjoyable. Low window sills let you enjoy the view, and comfortable seats and a large trunk make the car suitable for even longer journeys. If comfort is a priority, consider upgrading to the available Recaro front seats, which provide extra support.

2021 Subaru WRX Tech

The base version includes a standard 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, while the Premium and Limited models bump that up to 7 inches. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all versions. Only the Limited offers standard built-in navigation.

Another difference between the Base and the other two trim levels is the Base gives you only one USB port, while the Premium and Limited have two.

2021 Subaru WRX Safety

Safety is important when you’re driving a powerful ride like the WRX. The 2021 WRX has earned a 5-Star crash test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It’s also a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Every trim level comes with seven airbags standard, but if you want the Subaru EyeSight with driver-assistance tech, you’ll need to go for the Limited trim level.
