Well today’s your lucky day, because we’re going to introduce you to a sports car that won’t cost you an entire year’s worth of your salary to own. Yes, we’re talking about the all-new 2022 Subaru BRZ.

2022 Subaru BRZ: What We Know So Far
At this moment, we don’t yet have all of the details surrounding the 2022 Subaru BRZ. More information continues to become available, but some of the puzzle pieces are still missing.

2022 Subaru BRZ: Price
Subaru has yet to release a price for the 2022 BRZ, but the estimation right now is that it should start around $31,000 MSRP. It’s also been announced that the BRZ will come in two trim levels -- the Premium and Limited. The latter should run around $33,000 MSRP, although that again is an estimate.
2022 Subaru BRZ: What’s New?
For the 2022 model, Subaru took the 2021 BRZ (which already delivered superior value for a sports car) and turned the dial to 12. Built with drivers who like to rule the road in mind, it now features more horsepower, an all-new powertrain, better handling, improved acceleration and upgraded wheels and brakes. It sits half an inch lower than the 2021 model, and the body underwent a subtle redesign to improve aerodynamics.
2022 Subaru BRZ: Engine/Performance
The 2022 BRZ enjoyed a sizable upgrade from the 2021’s 2L engine, now sporting a 2.4L direct-injection engine, known as a “boxer.” It gets 228 horsepower, 23 more than last year’s model, and generates 184-lb-ft of torque. Especially with the BRZ’s lightweight frame, the upgraded powertrain allows it to jump off the starting line with surprising agility.
Estimates for gas mileage are not yet available.
2022 Subaru BRZ: Safety/Technology
If safety is near the top of your list of priorities, the 2022 Subaru BRZ has you covered. Now featuring Subaru’s EyeSight suite of safety features, the BRZ comes standard with driver-assist technologies like automated forward-collision braking and adaptive cruise control.
The 2022 BRZ also features an 8” infotainment display and modern niceties such as Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration and Sirius XM. The best part, though, is the digital driver information cluster, which will ensure all of the vital information about your vehicle is at your fingertips.
2022 Subaru BRZ: Release Date
Unfortunately, a release date for the 2022 Subaru BRZ has not yet been announced. However, the expectation is that this affordable, lightweight sports car will hit showroom floors in fall of 2021. That means we’ve still got some waiting to do.
While that may be the case, the 2022 Subaru BRZ will undoubtedly be worth the wait. It’s set to deliver a premium package of performance, safety and drivability that is all the more of a win considering the price tag.
